LETTER FROM THE VFW:
This benefit concert is to help the Meuse-Argonne VFW Post 573 with much needed maintenance to our VFW Post Home.
The Meuse-Argonne Post 573 has been a staple in this community since 1920. The VFW’s building was started in 1934 and was fully built in 1955. November 20, 2019, the Meuse-Argonne VFW Post 573 turned 99 years old.
Some may ask, what is the VFW and what do they accomplish in the community? This is a hard question to answer. We have a community of veterans that have a place to belong. When you come from a location like the Middle East and a military community, civilian life is a hard adjustment. It is good to relate to others that have been down your road. This is what our VFW is a place where veterans of foreign wars can be long and the other members understand where you are in life and what you have done.
We do many volunteer efforts for the community: Veterans Day Parade, help vets in need, Children’s Christmas party, home for the Harrison County honor guard, donations to charities, and the list goes on. AND we have the most fun Bingo in town to keep our doors open.
The sad thing is that our second-floor heating system is 64 years old and our roof was last replaced in the early 90’s. We have patched the roof so many times that the roofing companies run when they see us coming. The HVAC company that has been working on our 1955 system sat us down last year and said that there are no parts for our HVAC and it is 20 years past due.
We have another 99 years to consider.

Join us for a unique concert that has three local bands of different variety. The Dennis McClung Blues Band, The Grey Agents (rock), and Whiskey River (country) will have a mini battle of the bands here at the Robinson Grand to benefit veterans and specifically our very own Meuse-Argonne VFW Post 573. Come out for a good time, great music, and an important cause!
